Update: Grade 7-12 program at EDHShttp://huc.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/81Update: Grade 7-12 program at EDHS<p>Please see below for the content of a letter sent home with all Huronia Centennial families in late October.  <br><br></p><div>Dear Parents/Guardians of Huronia Centennial Elementary School,</div><div><br></div><div>Last night the Elmvale District High School (EDHS)/ Huronia Centennial Elementary School (HCES) Grade 7-12 transition committee met at EDHS. It was a very productive meeting, discussing many topics of interest from the schools and community. EDHS principal Dan MacDonald took the committee through the construction plans and timelines, concluding that current estimates have the construction being completed in early 2019 . The committee also discussed staffing and human resource planning, next steps and communication to the community. </div><div><br></div><div>The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) senior staff, supported by the Grade 7-12 transition team, has decided to delay the implementation of the Grade 7-12 school at EDHS until September 2019. The committee agreed that all stakeholders wanted the transition of Grade 7 and 8 students from HCES to be as smooth and seamless as possible. Members felt that a completed construction project was essential to ensuring a positive transition for our students. </div><div><br></div><div>I would like to thank the committee members for their support. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. The committee continues to work on your behalf towards this exciting new phase of education in Elmvale.</div><div><br></div><div>Sincerely,</div><div><br></div><div>Douglas Paul</div><div>Superintendent of Education, Area 2</div><div><br></div><p><br></p>
